We decided to take a two days fishing trip to Hällekis near to Vänern. Vänern is the biggest lake in Sweden but this time we went to smaller artificial lake called Stenbrottet for catching salmon.

Searching for new places
We were decided to search for new fishing places and we went on the other side of the lake near to a place called Kvarntorp.
It was not a very successful day mostly because it was raining all the day. We tried to fish for pike with small live fish but catching a small bite fish it was almost impossible. In the evening somehow we manage to catch a small pike which was not very impressive.

The Season Just Started
This is the first day of the season. After a long Swedish winter that don’t want to go away finally a little sunshine. I took the opportunity and went fishing for a few hours. I could stay only 4 hours but everything went fine. After two hours of casting the wobbler I caught the first pike of the year. Look at him! What a beauty!
The pike attacked the Perch Storm Kickin' Minnow lure. I was no expecting this because I don’t trust very much soft lures. However after one more hour, another attack to the Storm Lure convinced me that in the future probably I need to reconsider soft lures. This time the attack felt differently. After 10 seconds the fish was hooked I felt that it was not a pike. It could have not been a pike. The fish was much faster than a pike and was fighting quite vigorously. After a 2 min fight it finally showed up from the water. To my surprise it was an Asp, a threatened and protected species in Sweden.
