No Catch Today!

This is actually a late entry to this blog. It was on Sunday September 9th. Great weather and nice outside temperature but unfortunately no fish catch on this day. Actually the water temperature was quite cold and it was very hard to catch some small fishes for the pike bait. I think that my unluck was mostly due to the fact that I took my camera with me.

Trip to Washington

As I expected it was not too much fishing during this trip in Washington and Baltimore. A big surprise was in Washington when in our way to the meeting we met some people that actually were fishing in the Potomac River in the middle of the city. I took this picture from the car near to the Lincoln memorial. Obviously he was heading to have some afternoon fun.

There is no trip to USA without a visit to the Pro Bass Shop. I really like this shop. We went to the Pro Bass Shop at the Arundel Mills Circle Hanover, a one hour drive from Baltimore and as usual, it is always fun to do some shopping here.

I took a couple of pictures of the fishes from the aquarium, the northern pike was quite impressive and of course I’ve checked again my favourite Remington G3 semiautomatic shotgun. It has a perfect weight balance and a barrel length that gives you the perfect steadiness and facile movement.But let’s not continue with this because this is supposed to be a fishing blog and not a hunting blog.

Actually in Washington there are fishes. Some of them are quite old, like the ones that captured on my camera from the National History Museum. They are 50 millions years old and came from the intermountain basins of the Rockies and the lakes that covered during that time the north-eastern Utah, north-eastern Colorado and south-western Wyoming. In September 2008 next year I need to go to Salt Lake City in Utah and definitely I will not miss the possibility to check out the ancestors of these fishes.
On our way back to the airport we took the wrong exit and we ended up in a wrong direction. On top of that the GPS simply did not want to work anymore. Ironically the GPS name was “Never Lost”. However we have managed to find the right direction but on our detour from the main route, I found a small fly fishing shop called “Angle’s Lie”. I found this name extremely funny. Finally

That’s it. I’m going to do it right here and right now. Me and Adrian have discussed many times that we should open a blog about fishing. Now I’m sitting in the train on my way to Copenhagen, bored to death by reading projects reports from my job and I decided that finally I will create that blog. At least I would keep my brain occupied with something else during this trip. Look at this picture how bored I am.

I’m so bored that I started to take pictures of myself. Actually today it is Saturday and we were suppose to be out and fishing. Instead of that I’m sitting in X2000 high speed train on my way to the airport that makes me sea sick. I hope that at least Adrian will have a little bit more fun tomorrow and will go fishing and fill in this blog with some nice stories and pictures. As for me, there is not too much hope that that I will do some fishing in Washington and Baltimore during next week.

We will try to document here our fishing adventure. In this way I guess we can systematically document our catches and not argue anymore when and where we caught that particular fish. And of course, fishermen have always something to tell people…...
